Harry Binswanger is a member of the Ayn Rand Institute's Board of Directors and an instructor at ARI's Ayn Rand University. He received his Ph.D. in philosophy from Columbia University in 1973 and has taught philosophy at Hunter College (City University of New York), The New School for Social Research, and the University of Texas, Austin.
During the 1980's, he published and edited The Objectivist Forum, a bimonthly journal devoted to Ayn Rand's philosophy, and in Ayn Rand's last years, Dr. Binswanger became her associate and friend.
He is the author of How We Know: Epistemology on an Objectivist Foundation and of The Biological Basis of Teleological Concepts. He is the editor of The Ayn Rand Lexicon and of the second edition of Ayn Rand's Introduction to Objectivist Epistemology.
A frequent speaker on Ayn Rand's philosophy, he has given more than 70 talks at on a wide variety of topics in philosophy and politics at some 35 universities, and he has appeared on TV shows hosted by Glenn Beck, Geraldo Rivera, and Judge Anthony Napolitano, and in two documentary films on Ayn Rand. He is currently working on a book on the philosophy of mathematics.
